WHY DID YOU CHOOSE HOT SPRINGS HEALTH:
I was looking for a small town in Wyoming. I have lived in everything from a small town up to a big city. While there are pros and cons to small town vs big city, I wanted a small hometown environment to raise my boys. I feel there are so many more pros to living in a small town.
WHAT DO YOU WANT PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT THE WAY YOU PRACTICE MEDICINE:
I believe the provider and patient should have an open and honest relationship. I don’t want to “dictate” how to take care of the patient. The patient should have the final say in tests and/or medications they are going to take. Afterall, it’s their body. I also believe that all aspects of life play into health. It’s not just the body that I am taking care of; it’s heart, mind, body, and soul. I feel that I can relate to a lot of different circumstances. I worked as an RN for 20 years before becoming a Nurse Practitioner. I have done a lot, seen a lot, and experiences many things. I feel I can draw on a lot of my previous experiences to help understand what the patient is going through.
Butterflies, plants, gardening, music, reading, and scrapbooking. I always have a big garden in the summertime and I freeze and can as much of the produce as possible. I also enjoy outdoor activities. I love the water whether it is boating, rafting, fishing, or swimming. I really enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, camping, and snowboarding. Sometimes after working all day inside, I just want to sit outside and enjoy the sunset.
